The worldwide theatrical premiere of Star Wars: The Force Awakens is a paltry five days away, and many film studios have been vying for that coveted spot for their film’s trailers to air in front of Episode VII. Here’s the list of who made the cut.
With just five days until the worldwide premiere of Star Wars: The Force Awakens, loads of leaked photos and information from the film is beginning to make its way onto the vast sinkhole that is the internet. In that regard, a Twitter user by the name of @StarWarsJunk has tweeted out a picture of the hard drive sent to theaters showing the film. On the front of the drive — on which the entire film is stored — is a list of the different trailers that will air in front of The Force Awakens. Check it out:
As you can see, this particular drive was sent to an IMAX theater in Los Angeles, and is formatted for 3D. The list of movie trailers is:
Batman vs Superman: Dawn of Justice
Captain America: Civil War
Independence Day: Resurgence
That’s a very interesting batch of titles. Jungle Book will feature Lupita Nyong’o as the wolf Raksha, which will be another voice-acting gig for the Academy Award winning actress who will portray Maz Kanata in The Force Awakens. Also of note: The epic battle of comic book titans — Marvel and DC — will feature Batman vs Superman: Dawn of Justice going up against Captain America: Civil War. And then of course, gamers everywhere will be excitedly looking for new footage from Warcraft, which is a film that has been on every World of Warcraft player’s wish list since 2005.
Star Wars: The Force Awakens will premiere worldwide on December 17 and 18, and as far as we know, this is the only list of trailers that will be available to air in front of the film. Stay tuned to Dork Side of the Force, as we will update this article with any new trailers that will be coming out in front of Episode VII.
