See Maz Kanata and Snoke up close from The Force Awakens
Disney/Lucasfilm has released a few HD photos of Maz Kanata and Snoke, directly from Star Wars: The Force Awakens…
Our pals over at Entertainment Weekly have an exclusive photos of two characters from Star Wars: The Force Awakens — Maz Kanata and Supreme Leader Snoke. The HD quality pics are taken directly from the film, and show each of these unique and exciting new characters to the Star Wars universe, up close. Here’s Maz:

Both Maz and Snoke were motion capture characters, meaning that the actors who portrayed each one, provided the voice, and computer captured movements. On her role as Maz, Lupita Nyong’o had this to say:

"“As an actor for films, your eyes are a lot of the way you communicate anyway. So it was definitely a gift to have that be the means to her magic as a motion-capture character.”"
Next we have the dark and ominous leader of the First Order, Supreme Leader Snoke. Although J.J. Abrams has stated in the past that both Snoke and Kylo Ren are not Sith — in the traditional sense of the word — they are both very powerful in the Dark Side of the Force. Many rumors have it that Snoke is just Emperor Palpatine’s former Sith Master — Darth Plagueis — hiding under another name…but I guess we won’t know for sure, until Episode VIII…hopefully.
Here’s three photos of Snoke, as he sat in council with General Hux (Domhnall Gleeson) and Kylo Ren (Adam Driver). It’s important to remember that Snoke was projecting himself to his two subordinates via holo-projection, and is not actually that big.

Both these characters are sure to have a role to play in the future film…at least we know for sure that Snoke will. Hopefully we will see more of Maz Kanata and her magical eyes that see the Force in everything.
