Per Tracy Cannobbio, official Star Wars Rebels news will break next week.
The Lucasfilm publicist responsible for mercifully letting Star Wars Rebels fans know when something big is coming up, has hinted the dry spell for the show will end next week.
Yesterday, we reported the possibility of season 2B of Rebels premiering on January 20th with an episode titled “A Princess On Lothal.” Though that information was taken from a cable television listing and hasn’t been corroborated by the higher-ups of LFL and Disney yet, a confirmation may be in store for us in just a few days.

“So much awesome info” sounds like a lot more than just confirmation about the season 2B premiere, however. There’s a strong possibility we’ll get a trailer, or even a clip or two to get us back into the world of the Ghost crew.
This past season set the bar high by exploring the backgrounds of some of the main characters, such as Sabine, Hera, and Ezra, as well as upping the stakes for everyone involved. It also saw the incredible duel between Ahsoka Tano and the two new Inquisitors, the Fifth Brother and the Seventh Sister (the latter is voiced by Sarah Michelle Gellar). Rebels is pretty good at outdoing itself, so the hope is we’ll see more of the same, and better, from the season’s closing episodes.
There’s also the impending duel between Ahsoka Tano and Darth Vader to look forward to (we all know it’s coming), which may drop this season instead of season three, which some speculate will be the final season of the show. However, if the battle between Ahsoka and Vader is the biggest showdown Rebels will offer, LFL and Disney may postpone it for the third season, which will premiere this fall.
