The creator of some of the most iconic comic book characters in the world — Stan Lee — thinks that a Star Wars and Avengers crossover would be fun…

More from Dork Side of the Force

Yes, you read that correctly, the father of Marvel Comic‘s most successful titles — Stan Lee — would like to see a Star Wars and Avengers titles, and while thinking that an event like that would be fun, he even thinks it could actually happen. Here’s what the legend himself, said:

"“Obviously the people who produce these [movies] are looking to be as successful as possible. If they feel that incorporating Star Wars with the Marvel characters will be very successful, they’ll find a way to do it. Can you imagine Spider-Man saying, “May the force be with you”? It may come to that!”"

Now, I am most certainly not going to bash Stan Lee for making a comment like this, but as a diehard fan of both Marvel and Star Wars, I can tell you that there is nothing I find appealing about a crossover between the two. In fact, I think it would be complete and total garbage that would be a deathknell for Disney’s money-makers.

In the interview with The Big Issue, Lee furthered expounded on his comments:

"“It’ll be the most expensive film ever produced! I don’t know how many characters you can have in a movie but anything that the public want to see you can be sure it will eventually be produced.”"

Again, I respectively disagree with Mr. Lee, here. While the idea of a Star Wars and Marvel crossover may appeal to some fat-cat suit sitting behind a desk looking at numbers all day, the general public would despise an event of this magnitude. Here’s hoping that common sense takes over and these two genres never meet.

We want to hear from you. What would you think of a Star Wars and Marvel crossover film? Let us know in the comments and on social media.
