The grand old city of Dubrovnik in Croatia has continued to prepare for filming Star Wars: Episode VIII, which will begin the second week of March, and thanks to a Croatian website (via Making Star Wars) we have some photos to share of the progress…

Croatian website Poslovni dnevnik has recently uploaded a plethora of new photos featuring the crew for production crew for Star Wars: Episode VIII in various stages of preparation for filming scenes in the heart of the city of Dubrovnik. As we’ve previously reported, the facades in front of the shops are all uniform, and now the crew have added panels on the sides of those same facades. Check them out:

Here we have just a couple of square panels that appear to be in the uniformed style of the First Order…but that’s just a wild guess, at this point.

As you can see from this next photo, the panels are all at a uniformed height, making hard to nearly impossible for small astromech droids like R2 or BB-8 to access, which is another reason I believe this to be a First Order controlled city/planet.

Look at the panel in the photo, as it has what appears to be an access point at the top left for droids that can actually reach it, like protocol droids of C-3PO’s height.

You can find even more photos by visiting Poslovni’s photo uploader, there you will see even more panels and street views, and even the crew at work setting the city of Dubrovnik up for Star Wars: Episode VIII filming, which begins in March.

We want to hear from you! What do you think these panels do? Do you think the First Order controls this city, or are they a part of some other planet or group? Let us know in the comments and on social media.
