Billy Dee Williams will once again be the spokesman for Colt 45.
Billy Dee Williams is best known as Lando Calrissian from Star Wars, but he is also well known as the spokesman for Colt 45 Malt Liquor.
Billy Dee Williams began his run as Colt 45’s spokesman in 1986 and after five years of commercials his connection to the adult beverage became iconic. If you mention Billy Dee Williams someone is going to say “it works every time.”
Now Billy Dee Williams is back with a brand new Colt 45 commercial that is just perfect. The commercial’s message is that some things are good just the way they are and don’t need to change. They get the point across by mixing in modern Billy Dee with clips from his 1980’s Colt 45 commercials.
The smooth talking space pirate has still got it, and I would buy a cold crisp and delicious Colt 45 today…if I drank Colt 45, that is.
I wonder if this is his big warmup to come out of retirement for that Star Wars: Episode VIII Filming casino-scene from Dubrovnik, in Croatia, where Mark Hamill’s Luke Skywalker is reportedly walking through, looking for an as-yet-unnamed person. I mean, who else in the Star Wars universe do you know would be chilling in a casino?

Billy Dee is both smooth and hilarious at the same time. I like to think that Billy Dee is acting serious, but is also in on the joke of how ridiculous these commercials are.
