With today’s exciting announcement that Good Morning America will air the very first trailer for Rogue One: A Star Wars Story on Disney’s ABC network, we thought we’d narrow down the time for you to tune in, just so you won’t miss that awesome first look…
It’s finally here, the Rogue One trailer has appeared as if out of nowhere. And, surprise surprise, Disney’s own network, ABC will be hosting the airing of the very first look into director Gareth Edwards dark and gritty Star Wars film about a rebel cell’s attempt to steal the Death Star’s plans. The trailer will air on Good Morning America — sometime between 7am CT and 9an CT, and here’s the announcement:
"TOMORROW: World premiere of the first trailer for #RogueOne: A @StarWars Story only on @GMA.https://t.co/QvTT5Rnm7a— Good Morning America (@GMA) April 6, 2016"
So far, we know that Rogue One stars:
- Felicity Jones
- Diego Luna
- Riz Ahmed
- Ben Mendelsohn
- Mike Stoklasa
- Donnie Yen
- Jiang Wen
- Forest Whitaker
- Rich Evans
- Mads Mikkelsen
- Alan Tudyk
- Jay Bauman
- Neil Breen
- Jonathan Aris
There’s not much more about the film that we do know, other than the fact that Darth Vader is supposedly in it, and will be a brutal version of himself. Filming reports have the Sith Lord using the Force to throw his lightsaber to decapitate his enemies, while Force choking other rebel soldiers and using them as meat shields.
Other rumors have it that Ben Mendelsohn’s character could possibly be a version of the Expanded Universe character Admiral Thrawn, as a character has been seen on set wearing all white, with a grand white cape. If this were to pan-out, the fandom would go bananas, because Thrawn is probably the most popular EU character next to Revan, and in some cases, even more popular than the masked Old Republic sometimes Sith, sometimes gray Jedi.
