Warwick Davis will host Star Wars Celebration Europe in July.
The official Twitter account for Star Wars Celebration Europe announced today that Davis, who played Wicket W. Warrick the Ewok in Return of the Jedi and appeared in bit parts in The Phantom Menace and The Force Awakens, will host Star Wars Celebration in London this July. Check out Warwick’s hilarious announcement of the news from his YouTube channel below.
Star Wars Celebration is a time of fun and all things Star Wars, and Warwick Davis is the perfect person to oversee the event. He’s regards Star Wars as one of the highlights of his career (via MCM Buzz), and it’s clear from the video he made that he’s a huge fan of the franchise, as well; I can’t even quote A New Hope that well!
Last year, Celebration was hosted by James Arnold Taylor, the voice of Obi Wan Kenobi, Plo Koon, and many other characters in The Clone Wars television series. There were lots of fun panels and interviews he got to preside over, including one on one talks with the ever-delightful Carrie Fisher (who tackled him with a hug when she first got onstage), and Mark Hamill, as famous for his voice acting as he is for playing Luke Skywalker. Then there was the big panel with J.J. Abrams and cast members from The Force Awakens, where they played the second teaser trailer for the film.

The best part of everything, though, was that the entire event was live-streamed, so even those who couldn’t make the trip to Anaheim (like me) wouldn’t have to miss out on anything. I expect Celebration Europe will be just as delightful, and even though we won’t be there, keep checking Dork Side July 15th-17th to stay up to date on all the action with Davis and co.
