Lucasfilm president Kathleen Kennedy and Rogue One director Gareth Edwards will host a panel at Star Wars Celebration Europe.
The official Star Wars website announced today that Kennedy and Edwards will host a Rogue One panel to kick off events at Star Wars Celebration Europe on July 15th. The president and the director will be joined by “some special guests,” whom we speculate are the cast members of the first canon live action Star Wars spinoff movie.

Star Wars Celebration Europe is scheduled to take place in London July 15th-17th, 2016 at the ExCeL London Exhibition Centre. Aside from Kennedy and Edwards, Mark Hamill and Warwick Davis have already been confirmed as celebrity guests. Davis will also be acting as the official host of this year’s Celebration, and will fulfill the same celebrity interview and panel introduction duties as James Arnold Taylor did at last year’s Celebration in Anaheim.
The “special guests” on the Rogue One panel, as we suggested, will probably be the main cast members of the standalone film: Felicity Jones, Diego Luna, Forest Whitaker, Mads Mikkelsen, Donnie Yen, and maybe more.
The hope is that we will get another Rogue One trailer, or at the very least a behind the scenes video like we got for The Force Awakens last year in Anaheim. We may also learn more character and planet names, as we did at that The Force Awakens panel last year which featured most of the main cast. Whatever form it comes in, I’m expecting to learn something big about Rogue One, and I don’t think Kennedy and Edwards will disappoint. July will be the time to market Rogue One, as by that time the film will only be five months away.
