Carrie Fisher Is Attending Star Wars Celebration Europe

Carrie Fisher will attend Star Wars Celebration Europe in London in July.
Princess, senator, general, and now a Star Wars Celebration attendee once again. Carrie Fisher will be attending Star Wars Celebration Europe in London this July.
Carrie joins a growing list of celebrity guests, including her in-universe brother, Mark Hamill, Lucasfilm president Kathleen Kennedy, and Rogue One director Gareth Edwards. Warwick Davis, who played Wicket the Ewok in Return of the Jedi alongside Carrie, is this year’s celebrity host.

Whatever panels she’s going to be on, Carrie Fisher is going to steal the show, no doubt. Her antics on the celebrity guest stage with host James Arnold Taylor last year (including signing his sneakers and tackling him to the ground with a hug) were priceless, and we can’t wait to see what kind of mischief she and her dog, Gary, cook up this year.
This year, though, we hope Carrie will take advantage of potential partners in crime, like Mark, who is a big jokester himself, and the young stars of The Force Awakens, Daisy Ridley and John Boyega (maybe Tom Hiddleston will show up again as her date, too, like he did for the White House Correspondents’ Association dinner). Last year, Ridley and Boyega put on a mask and a helmet, respectively, and milled about in the crowds of fans unnoticed. They might not get away with being so sneaky at Celebration Europe, as fans will be on the lookout for them.

There have been no further updates concerning what kind of panels are in the works, aside from a Rogue One panel being hosted by Gareth and Edwards on day one of the three-day event. There’s likely to be a panel about Episode VIII, or at least that’s what we hope, considering the biggest stars of the film (Mark, Daisy Ridley, John Boyega, and Adam Driver) will probably still be in Europe doing shoots in July. We might get some behind the scenes footage, like we got at last year’s Star Wars Celebration in Anaheim, and it’s also possible director Rian Johnson will either be in attendance or record a video message for the occasion.
