Watch the Star Wars Rebels Season 3 Trailer
It’s day 2 at the Star Wars Celebration in London, England, and today is all about Disney XD’s Star Wars Rebels. During the Rebels panel, the Season 3 trailer was shown by executive producer Dave Filoni…
The Star Wars Rebels panel was hosted by Star Wars legend, Warwick Davis, and featured two of the shows stars, Tiya Sircar — who voices Sabine — and Sam Witwer — who voices Darth Maul. The voice actors were joined by Rebels executive producer Dave Filoni, who presented the Star Wars Rebels Season 3 trailer. Check it out:
The trailer picks up right where the Season 2 finale left off: Darth Vader’s iconic breathing and Ezra calling out Ahsoka’s name. We’re then shown Kanan, as he meditates. The now Jedi Master has fashioned a mask to cover his blinded eyes.
"“Battles leave scars, some you can’t see.”"
A new look for Ezra is revealed (although we saw that a few days ago during the Star Wars Show). Ezra looks more mature; more like he’s carrying he weight of what happened to both Ahsoka and Kanan in the Season 2 finale. He still has the Sith Holocron, and he’s asking if the Jedi can use it to find answers, and the help they need.
Then we’re shown the rebels as they stand around a coms-unit. A modulated voice tells them that some of the Imperial cadets want to defect to the growing rebel army…and then, Wedge Antilles introduces himself.
Of course, Hando from The Clone Wars is back, and he’s helping the rebels. We get a montage of battle droids attacking, and the rebels defending themselves, while Rex, in what appears to be new armor, talks about “the last glorious day of the Grand Army of the Republic.”
- We get a shot of a ship that looks an awful lot like the Millennium Falcon.
- What Ezra calls “flying Stormtroopers” which we know to be the Mandalorians.
- A new looking Sabine talking to an elder of her clan, one assumes.
And then we get a frontal view of Imperial Star Destroyers, as Grand Moff Tarkin talks to an Imperial officer named Governor Price. It’s then that the silhouette of a Grand Admiral is shown. He turns and walks toward the screen, and it’s none other than Grand Admiral Thrawn.
Another montage is shown, this time it’s of the Jedi and the Sith. A Sith Force Ghost is shown, and he sounds eerily similar to Count Dooku. And then a creature called the Bendu is introduced, voiced by Doctor Who actor Tom Baker.
Finally, we get Grand Admiral Thrawn, as he gives us the quote of the trailer, in regards to the downfall of the Rebellion:
“They’ll be the architects of their own destruction.”
