Both Han Sol and Star Wars: The Last Jedi are getting a boost from celebrity cameos…

Actor Ian Kenny, who had a breakout performance as Barry on the hit musical comedy-drama Sing Street, has joined the cast of the second standalone Star Wars film — Han Solo. Variety broke the news about the actor’s involvement in the Star Wars story, which includes  Alden Ehrenreich as Han Solo, Donald Glover as Lando Calrissian, Woody Harrelson as a character named Beckett, Joonas Suotamo as Chewbacca, Westworld star Thandie Newton, Phoebe Waller-Bridge, and Game of Thrones star Emilia Clarke.

In other news, UK pop star, Gary Barlow, has confirmed that he has a role in Star Wars: The Last Jedi, and it isn’t as a Stormtrooper. Digital Spy notes that the singer filmed his role at Pinewood Studios in London.

"I’m not a stormtrooper, but I am in it. Now I’ve said that, I’ll probably be out. I think the Star Wars people are so strict about what information [is out there]. So me saying that, I’ve probably just done myself out of a role."

Finally, The Leftovers star Justin Theroux is also going to be in Star Wars: The Last Jedi and his role has been revealed, as well.  Making Star Wars revealed that Theroux is playing a “slicer” in the film. Think a hacker in in the Star Wars universe. And, he’ll be wearing a tuxedo.

"We have heard there was an explosion during a sequence shot on the “casino” set at Pinewood and perhaps Theroux plays a part in that. It isn’t immediately clear if he’s a good guy or a villain but he is dressed rather well to say the least."

Sounds exciting! We want to hear from you: Which celebrity cameo are you most excited to see in which Star Wars film? Ian Kenny in Han Solo? Or, Gary Barlow and Justin Theroux in Star Wars: The Last Jedi? Let’s discuss in the comments.
