Mark Hamill: “Luke was always the villain”

Mark Hamill strikes again, this time with this Twitter bombshell…

Star Wars legend Mark Hamill — Luke Skywalker — has not been shy about using his personal Twitter account. Recently, he even “accidentally” revealed the release date of the newest trailer for The Last Jedi a few weeks early, which ended up being a 100 % accurate in its prediction. In Hamill’s most recent Twitter adventure, he commented on the official poster for The Last Jedi, making a casual observation, then teased fans with this explosive statement:

"Luke was ALWAYS the villain! (from a certain point of view)"

Most likely this was just Hamill being his usual “trickster” self, but with him, who knows? We will play your little game, Mr. Hamill — even to our demise. Could he be talking about the point of view of the Empire or even Emperor Palpatine himself? Perhaps from the lens of Supreme Leader Snoke and his most promising student Kylo Ren? Or could the unthinkable happen, with Luke becoming the bad guy for Episode VIII?

I believe it’s just Hamill messing with us all, once again, giving us a misdirection. I predict that Luke will be brought back to his hero ways by Rey, saving the day once again. How and when, I don’t know, but Luke Skywalker withstood the advances of the Emperor and Darth Vader, so he will be able to deal with the demons of his past. He’s always been a hero and that will ring true in the next two films.

What do you all believe? Is Hamill being his normal, fun-loving self, or is there something to read into here? Tell us in the comments below and on our social media pages.

The Last Jedi hits theaters December 15, where we will discover if Luke Skywalker is, in fact, the villain — from a certain point of view.
