The much-anticipated release of Star Wars Battlefront II is November 17th, but if you do your gaming on a PC or Xbox you can start playing now.

The first 10 hours of Battlefront II gameplay are being made available to all members or EA Access. The progress you make in the game during this preview view period can be used once the full game is available on November 17 (November 14 for all those who pre-order a digital copy of the game).

You can sign up for EA Access for just a mere $5 per month and gain access to the play first trial for Star Wars Battlefront II. Once a member you’ll be able to enjoy the first 10 hours of gameplay including the first section of the single-player campaign.

Of course, if you do your gaming on a PlayStation 4 like I do, EA Access is unavailable. Blame the folks at Sony for being short-sighted.

Additional content coming your way

Once you’ve gotten your full copy of Battlefront II you can expect some more additional content coming your way starting in early December. Starting on December 5, you’ll have to choose a side, First Order or Resistance with new special challenges and Faction specific rewards coming your way.

The Last Jedi DLC

On December 13th prior to the release of The Last Jedi, Finn and Captain Phasma will be available as playable heroes.  You can purchase them with in-game credits and whichever faction completes the most challenges will be rewarded with a crate of new upgrades for both Finn and Phasma.

Also available on the13th of December will be new locations and new vehicles. All the new content from The Last Jedi will be released including a new planetary map for Crait, a straighter assault map for D’Qar, Tallie Lintra’s A-Wing(new hero ship) and upgrades for Poe Dameron’s X-Wing.

The last of the December 13 DLC will be new chapters for the single-player campaign focusing on the First Order’s rise to power out of the ashes of the Empire. You’ll join Battlefront II main character Iden Versio on missions in the First Order’s first days.

Players will have new daily, weekend and weekly faction challenges to earn more in-game credits. There’s sure to be more DLC content coming from EA and Lucasfilm as Solo: A Star Wars Story gears up for release next year, with hopefully some options for an earlier rendition of the Falcon.
