Among other exciting things, Star Wars: Episode IX will give us the Finn and Rey togetherness that was sorely lacking in the Last Jedi. Thank goodness!
One thing that was sorely lacking in Star Wars: The Last Jedi was screen time with our favorite dynamic duo: Finn and Rey. Well, fear not fans of Finn and Rey (Rinn? Fey? What would their mashup name be?) there is going to be a lot more adventuring happening with the two heroes of the new franchise in the upcoming Star Wars: Episode IX.
I think it’s safe to say that one of the things that people love most about the new trilogy is the fantastic on-screen chemistry between Daisy Ridley (Rey) and John Boyega (Finn). Rey and Finn have this phenomenal friendship that develops quickly over the course of Star Wars: The Force Awakens. I, personally, was looking forward to seeing that develop further in Star Wars: The Last Jedi.

Unfortunately, we only got about two minutes of Finn and Rey in the film. They spent the majority of the action apart. I can understand the need to develop these characters individually and send them on their own arc, but I was happy to hear that the two of them will be teaming up again in Episode IX.
Though none of the actors have read the script yet, Daisy Ridley purportedly heard from J.J. Abrams himself that the team would be back together. John Boyega has said:
"“I haven’t read the script for Episode IX. But Daisy did shoot me a text saying, ‘Oh my gosh, I just heard from J.J., and we’re back together.’ That’s what I’m really excited about, is Finn and Rey back together again.”"
And I think it’s safe to say most fans are in agreement with him. We’re excited to see Finn and Rey back together again.
