Han Solo: Harrison Ford and Alden Ehrenreich ‘fight’ over Captain’s seat of ‘Falcon’
Alden Ehrenreich received a surprise visit from Harrison Ford, with the two “fighting” over the Captain’s seat of the “Falcon.” Will the real Han Solo please stand up?
Following in the footsteps of a legend is never easy, and when that legend happens to be Harrison Ford and the role is Han Solo, well, you get where I’m going. When Star Wars fans envision Han Solo, they see Harrison Ford taking on three Star Destroyers in the fastest hunk of junk in the galaxy, but on May 25 fans will see a new face take on the legendary role, Alden Ehrenreich.
And not only does Alden Ehrenreich have the unenviable task of pleasing fanboys and critics alike, but he also has to impress the man who started it all. While doing an interview promoting Solo: A Star Wars Story, Alden Ehrenreich came face to face with the man who started it all in 1977.
And Mr. Solo, er Ford, jokingly told the kid to get out of his chair and his life. Talk about pressure.
The young actor has faced criticism and doubt ever since the announcement was made that Alden would be the lead role in the story about Solo’s pre-Rebellion years. Fans will not only see Han’s first encounter with Chewbacca and Lando, but also the famous card game where he won the Millennium Falcon.
Fans are eager to see a glimpse in such a beloved character’s past and see if Alden Ehrenreich will indeed bring the young scoundrel to life yet again on the silver screen. It takes more than just flying around in the rust bucket to bring Solo to life; you have to bring the mannerisms and the quick wit. We will soon find out if Ehrenreich is up to the challenge.

Early screenings of Solo: A Star Wars Story have been positive, and Disney apparently has all the confidence in the world in Alden Ehrenreich to take fans into a legendary character’s past. To get the seal of approval from fans is important but to get the endorsement from the “Scruffy Nerfherder” himself has to make the young actor walk proud. Only time will tell.
