Rumors over Star Wars: Episode IX have been circulating since TLJ ended, but one rumor regarding Billy Dee Williams is looking more and more like fact.

It’s a major part of fandom’s rumors, well any fandom really, but it’s a huge part of the Star Wars fandom. Ever since it was announced the latest trilogy of the Star Wars franchise would be made, rumors over what will happen and who will feature have been rife. But the latest Star Wars: Episode IX rumor about Billy Dee Williams is starting to shape up to be more fact, than rumor.

Having the old faces from the original trilogy appear in the latest one has been a must for many fans. So far we have had a fair few of the old favorites appear, R2-D2, Luke, Han, Leia, Chewie, etc. But we are still missing some, and one in particular is Lando.

More from Star Wars Episode IX: The Rise of Skywalker

Fans have been begging to have him feature in the new trilogy and there was a lot of hope he would in The Last Jedi, even Rian Johnson considered bringing him in. Obviously it never happened but it might happen in Star Wars: Episode IX. Rumors have been circulating for some time  but those rumors are starting to feel like fact.

Billy Dee Williams recently pulled out of the Saskatchewan Entertainment Expo due to a film schedule conflict. Now the reason alone fuels the rumors of him appearing in Star Wars: Episode IX. However, he could always be filming something else but what that could be is anyone’s guess since he has nothing on the filming docket.

We’ve got some sad news for you all today. Due to a film schedule conflict, Billy Dee Williams will not be able to…

Take into account a few other key bits of information, such as the filming for Star Wars Episode: IX is to start later in the month. The convention Billy Dee Williams has pulled out of is in September and considering filming can take several months it would make sense that he pulled out of the convention due to Star Wars: Episode IX.

This is all still ifs and buts and maybes, and it could all turn out to be one huge coincidence. Hopefully it is not though, hopefully this is one rumor that will turn out to be fact and we will see Lando again in Star Wars: Episode IX.
