Galaxy’s Edge: A cantina is coming to Disney theme park
You can’t get the full Star Wars experience without a cantina. Check out what Galaxy’s Edge has in store for fans.
If you have ever wanted a real Star Wars cantina experience, Galaxy’s Edge will deliver one for you when it opens in 2019.
Disney Parks revealed the Galaxy’s Edge theme parks will open Oga’s Cantina, serving the members on the galaxy. This is a really exciting bit of news, even though we expected it given what we learned about Black Spire Outpost on Batuu.
Cantinas have held a special place in Star Wars films becoming a meeting point for all types of rebels, scoundrels, aliens and everything in between. They have showcased how vast and different the galaxy is despite dealing with just a few races in the movies.

There will be a lot to drink in the cantina, and with some food as well. But right now, the libations are high on the list.
Scott Trowbridge stated on Disney Park’s website:
"No self-respecting remote outpost on the edge of the galaxy would call itself a smuggler’s planet without a cantina, and Black Spire Outpost is no exception. Today, I’m pleased to share more details for Oga’s Cantina, which will be serving pilots, bounty hunters, smugglers, locals and galactic travelers alike, when it opens in 2019."
Oga’s Cantina is run by Oga Garra, who runs by a strict code, according to Trowbridge. It’s a place for those who don’t want to be bothered, so if you have something you’re smuggling, this might be the place to stop. Plus, Oga keeps her patrons in line, so she is some one not to be messed with.
Music will be on hand at the cantina in Galaxy’s Edge and provided by RX-24, a former StarSpeeder 3000 pilot droid, as the DJ. RX-24 actually appeared in Star Tours, so it’s great that he found another job.
Trowbridge also ends his post saying, “You never know what will happen at the cantina!” which makes you wonder how many of the patrons will be paid actors. There could be fights, musical acts, card games and so much more that will make for an incredible atmosphere at the cantina in Galaxy’s Edge.
