Disney has been officially contacted by Variety regarding Nick Nolte and the role he will play, but declined to comment.
Appearing on both the big and small screen since the late 60’s. Nolte is most recognized for his work in 48 Hours, Affliction, and Cape Fear. His most movie Warrior won him an Academy Award for best-supporting actor in 2012. So The Mandalorian has landed no mere small fish.

Without any idea of who he will be appearing as in Star Wars: The Mandalorian, all we can really do is speculate. Considering that an official announcement hasn’t been made it would probably be safe to assume that it is not a minor role that he has landed in the live-action Star Wars series.
Recently we learned about Carl Weathers involvement in The Mandalorian. Something which is still to be officially confirmed. So the general assumption is that Nick Nolte’s role is much larger than Carl Weathers. Again though, all speculation. We will just need to wait and see what happens as more new is announced.
