The Mandalorian: Gamorrean Guards spotted and it’s not surprising

Gamorrean Guards have been reported seen on the set of Star Wars: The Mandalorian, something that really isn’t surprising considering all we know.

Straight off the back of announcements made by Star Wars: The Mandalorian that Nick Nolte would be joining the live action Star Wars series alongside Pedro Pascal and Gina Carano, Gamorrean Guards have been spotted on set. A spot that is nice to see, but not hugely surprising.

Considering the series is set between Star Wars: The Return of the Jedi, and Star Wars: The Force Awakens. And there is a rumor to suggest that some it will be set on the very familiar Star Wars planet Tatooine, which is the place we last saw the creatures, to see them on set is like I said, nice, but not a huge surprise. The Gamorrean Guards helped protect Jabba’s Palace, which was built on Tatooine after all.

More from The Mandalorian

The report comes via That Hashtag Show. It’s not clear exactly what role they might play in Star Wars: The Mandalorian. Very little is known about the upcoming series for the Disney Streaming Service. So it’s really a best guess at the moment.

The Gamorrean Guards could be involved in a very minor role, more for fan service than anything else. Then again, they could play a more significant role. With them being in service of Jabba prior to the when the live action series is set, and with Jabba now dead, they could be in service of someone else. Maybe the Mandalorian, maybe someone else leading, to a larger storyline.

We’ll keep an eye out on more information as it becomes known. But as things stand. Gamorrean Guards will feature, which, again, isn’t a huge surprise.
