Have a Jedi appear in a supporting role

This may sound like an obvious idea, as Jedi are a staple of the Star Wars Universe, but given the time period The Mandalorian is said to be set in and the fact that Disney has already release two Star Wars,  movies which didn’t include any Jedi with 2016’s Rogue One and this year’s Solo: A Star Wars Story, so I believe it’s worth mentioning.

As this show takes place some time after the events of Revenge of the Sith, there aren’t a lot of known Jedi still alive that could appear. At the time of The Force Awakens, the Jedi are believed to be a myth and Luke Skywalker is said to be the last of them, along with Kylo Ren and Luke’s other former padawans also receiving training in the force, although they are not considered Jedi.

While there have been plenty of examples of Jedi being alive during this time in Star Wars Legends, as well as force sensitive characters such as Ezra being active during the rebellion in Rebels, we haven’t seen any of them appear canonically in the movies, so if they were omitted from this show, I wouldn’t be completely surprised.

However, I feel that Jedi are one of the most different aspects of the Star Wars universe and that a Jedi, or a force-sensitive being in some form or another should be included in the show.

The Star Wars universe is such a vast place and The Mandalorian is said to be taking place in the out rim of the galaxy, so despite the precedent set by the movies of there being virtually no existing Jedi aside from Luke Skywalker alive a this point, it wouldn’t be too out-of-place to include a one who has been living in secrecy.

This hypothetical Jedi could be an original character, or maybe even incorporate one from Legends such as fan-favorite Kyle Katarn, and would provide a fresh face in the Jedi lore, which we haven’t seen in live action.

The inclusion of a Jedi also gives us an opportunity to see some more great lightsaber battles, which is always a plus.
