Boba Fett has a bit of a head start here.  Fans, like me, have spent nearly 40 years building him up, plus he’s been in a number of comics and novels, and even has an alternate persona out there in Legends. There are songs in his honor, cars in his image, and more than a few people willing to etch his visage onto their own bodies.

Boba Fett gets that screen time in The Clone Wars as well, and let’s face it, is THE inspiration behind an entire Star Wars culture and aesthetic as the first Mandalorian. Without Fett, there’s no Satine or Sabine. Without Fett, no Jango or Pre Visla. Without Boba Fett we would not have Pablo Pascal getting his own tuning-fork rifle.

Phasma is working hard to catch up however. Delilah Dawson’s Phasma novel is a delight. The captain has her own comic series written by Kelly Thompson, and continues to appear in Star Wars: Resistance. MC Chris has not recorded a song about her yet, but she has made her way onto a few human canvases as well. I’m still holding out for a possible surprise in Episode IX; I don’t think we’ve seen the last of that mask, and certainly not of that piercing blue eye.

Advantage: Fett; but like him, despite actual on-screen evidence, some characters ooze so much awesome a little thing like getting killed off isn’t the last we see of them. Captain Phasma is too much of a survivor to allow a minor inconvenience like being dropped into a raging inferno stop her.

So, Boba Fett pulls ahead of Phasma on points, but I am looking forward to seeing what future either or both characters may have. Hey Star Wars, how about a team-up?
