A recent Star Wars: Episode IX rumor of Hayden Christensen returning in the upcoming movie is unlikely to be true. Here’s why.

Rumors regarding the potential return of Hayden Christensen in Star Wars: Episode IX have been going around for some time now. We talked about it once ourselves and whether it would be a good idea or not to bring the actor back. The rumor has since emerged once again but by the rumors own admission it’s unlikely to be true,

Emerging via the Express, it has reported Disney is currently in negotiations with the actor about bringing him back as Anakin Skywalker.

That’s pretty much all they give away. And they do point out this could turn out to be untrue. But that is really all the information we need to know about this rumor to make the decision that you can set this one aside in the “unlikely to be true pile.”

Because with principal photography expected to wrap up in February. For Disney to only be in the negotiations stages of potentially casting Hayden Christensen is unlikely. That part surely would have had to be done months ago. Otherwise, it’s going to be a massive last-minute rush job trying to get him to film all of his scenes in time.

You never though. It could potentially happen. Maybe it happened long ago, and Hayden Christensen has already been cast and filmed his roles and it’s just us getting the timeline wrong. I doubt it though.
