Mark Hamill reveals a Star Wars trailer — not that one
Luke Skywalker trolled us yet again after being asked about the Star Wars: Episode IX trailer on Twitter.
There’s probably nobody on the planet who wants the Star Wars: Episode IX trailer to drop more than Mark Hamill. Sure, us fans want to see it ASAP, but we’re not the ones getting pestered about it on Twitter everyday, either.
Hamill tweeted a trolling message to fans asking about the trailer — again — highlighted by his classic use of puns.
"More from Mark Hamill3 major ways the Star Wars Holiday Special changed canonThe SAG-AFTRA strike is over! Mark Hamill responds and what does this mean for Star WarsStar Wars and Mark Hamill team up with NASCAR and Bubba WallaceShould the Star Wars original trilogy movies be rebooted?Star Wars needs to embrace recasting actorsPeople keep asking me over & over & over again- “When will they release the #EpisodeIX trailer?” A) I don’t know. B) Until they do, just be satisfied with this exclusive look at my own personal #StarWars trailer. #PatiencePadawans #IXWillBeFineAllInGoodTime"
The picture that Hamill posted was actually from the set of The Last Jedi. It really is amazing that more hasn’t been leaked about Episode IX, especially since it’s probably the second-most anticipated movie of the year after Avengers: Endgame. J.J. Abrams and the whole crew have really been keeping everything under lock and key here.
Fortunately for both fans and Hamill, a trailer could very well be on the horizon. Don’t be surprised if a sneak peek drops at Star Wars Celebration in Chicago next month — Abrams is headlining a panel on April 12. This honestly seems like the most logical time for it to drop. Unless we get something during March Madness, I’d bet on Celebration to come through for us.
As for Hamill trolling fans, this is nothing new. Even though I think he probably knows when the trailer is coming, the man just gets a kick out of toying with us — I can just imagine him typing the tweet and cackling in that Joker laugh of his. Evil.
If the trailer and title for Episode IX don’t drop at Celebration, it’s anybody’s guess as to when we get them.
