Star Wars: A new theory puts a twist on Kylo Ren’s new helmet
Kylo Ren is apparently getting a new look to his helmet in Star Wars: Episode IX. But what if it’s not Kylo Ren under the mask?
The worst kept secret in Star Wars: Episode IX is that Kylo Ren will once again have his helmet, but as we’ve learned there is a new look to it.
Could there be something more to Kylo Ren’s helmet. Inverse had an interesting theory — what if it’s not Kylo Ren under that mask in Episode IX.

As theorized by Inverse, in The Force Awakens, “Supreme Leader Snoke mentions that Kylo Ren is the master of the Knights of Ren.” Snoke also orders Ren to take off the helmet, which he does.
Now flashforward to the Knights of Ren supposedly in Episode IX and here is where the theory gets interesting. Matt Smith was reportedly in finale of the Skywalker Saga, but the Doctor Who actor said he is not in it. We are not that convinced.
Here’s how the theory goes: what if Smith is the leader of the Knights of Ren and fixes the mask, posing as Kylo Ren?
It could create Like a power struggle for the leadership of the Knights and a slew of other issues if there is someone flying around the galaxy masquerading as Kylo Ren.
It is a fun speculation. If Ren’s helmet is fixed and by all accounts that is indeed the case. The who is and who is not wearing it becomes a focal point. It is not out of the realm that Smith could be involved with the Knights of Ren as they seem to have a place in Episode IX.
The question is would a character impersonate the First Order Supreme Leader for personal gain or to help him carry out a mission?
With so little known about the film, speculation grows — as does the secrecy of the Knights of Ren.
Star Wars: Episode IX is scheduled to release worldwide on December 20.
