Star Wars: Mark Hamill pays tribute to Carrie Fisher and Peter Mayhew in emotional Tweet

After visiting Star Wars: Galaxy’s Edge along with several legends, Mark Hamill posted a touching tribute on his Twitter account.

Star Wars: Galaxy’s Edge opened on May 31st, 2019 in Disneyland, and some of the most beloved characters in the universe visited the theme park.

According to starwars.com, one of the main features of Galaxy’s Edge is taking a ride in the cockpit of the Millennium Falcon. Another attraction, Rise of the Resistance, is expected to open later this year.

More from Mark Hamill

With Mark Hamill among other stars visiting the theme park, the actor best known as Luke Skywalker posted an emotional tribute to Carrie Fisher and Peter Mayhew on Twitter.

The picture shows Mark Hamill alongside Harrison Ford, Billy Dee Williams, and George Lucas. The photo also has Carrie Fisher and Peter Mayhew added to the picture, as Hamill is paying tribute to the two Star Wars heroes that passed away over the last few years.

Carrie Fisher, who played Princess Leia, passed away in 2016 after suffering a heart attack. Peter Mayhew, who played Chewbacca, passed away in 2019 from a heart attack as well.

Hamill is showing in this picture that despite passing away, Fisher and Mayhew will always be remembered. As Hamill puts it, he enjoyed his Galaxy’s Edge visit, but the only thing missing was Fisher and Mayhew.

This is a touching tribute as Star Wars fans continue to remember two of the franchise’s most beloved actors.
