Lego Star Wars: The Skywalker Saga offers lots of nostalgia, but is completely new

LEGO Star Wars: The Skywalker Saga will bring the Star Wars movies to fans in a way never seen before.
This game covers nine different movies — but in a way you’ve never seen before.
Lego Star Wars: The Skywalker Saga, announced at Microsoft’s E3 summit, is set for a 2020 release. And while it’s TT Games’ sixth Lego offering devoted to Star Wars, it’s notably different than those previous games, with improved game play and reworked combat capabilities.

According to Gamezone, the game features over-the-shoulder aiming, allowing you to freely aim at an opponent’s specific body parts.
“If you’re feeling creative, you can even fight enemies by using the force to grab and throw objects in the environment,” Gamezone writes.
Previously, you could only use the force in scripted animations.
The trailer for the game features some of the most iconic sequences of the Skywalker Saga, from Darth Vader disarming Luke in The Empire Strikes Back to Kylo Ren’s snowy lightsaber battle with Rey in The Force Awakens.
The game also allows for open traveling from one planet to another — and according to Gamezone, a demo features such settings as Luke’s childhood home and the Sarlacc pit.
With the game slated to be released next year, it also means it will include iconic sequences from Star Wars: The Rise of Skywalker that we haven’t even seen yet.
It’s just one of three new game editions coming for Star Wars fans in the next several months with Jedi: Fallen Order coming in November and the Limited Run classic games coming later this month.
The Skywalker Saga will be released on PC, Xbox One, PS4 and Switch.
