Star Wars: Thrawn Treason SDCC exclusive cover revealed; We’re not scared
If you’re headed to San Diego Comic-Con next month, you’re in luck. You can get Thrawn: Treason early with an exclusive Star Wars cover.
It’s hard to believe San Diego Comic-Con is almost here, but it’s actually less than a month away. Companies have started to tease their Star Wars convention exclusives too.
One of the first to show off its exclusive was Del Rey Books, home to the Star Wars canon novels. This year has been filled with interesting tales with several more on the way, including Thrawn: Treason, the final book of Timothy Zahn’s new trilogy.

Thrawn: Treason is slated to release July 23 — just after SDCC. (It was done like that on purpose).
But if you’re attending SDCC, you will actually be able to pick up a hardcover with an exclusive cover, an audiobook or both. In addition, there is also an enamel pin available that fans will be able to pick up, and I’m not jealous at all that I won’t be attending SDCC this year.

The same was done at Star Wars Celebration this year for Master & Apprentice. I managed to get my copy and was thrilled to add it to my collection.
Star Wars are going to enjoy this as well because that artwork is amazing. Beyond getting the exclusive cover, they will also be getting the book early and get to crack into it before the majority of Star Wars fans.
There are a few things to note about the cover. One of Del Rey’s book editors, wrote on Twitter the Chiss behind Thrawn are not clones. In addition, Admiral Ar’alani appears on the cover.
She was in Legends and had brief appearances in Zahn’s 2017 Thrawn novel.
If you’re headed to SDCC and want to pick up Thrawn: Treason, there are a few rules to follow.
Del Rey will be handing out wristbands when the conventions opens every morning. You need to keep the wristband on until you pick up your book later in the day, which can be done anytime between 11 a.m.-6 p.m.
It’s a simple process and was a breeze at Celebration. Even though there will likely be more people at SDCC, this should go smoothly as well.
