Star Wars No. 68

The main title comic enters new a timeline. Remember when Darth Vader sent out probes to find Luke Skywalker at the start of the The Empire Strikes Back?

Of course you do. Now we learn what happened just before that moment in Marvel’s latest offering.

The team has separated for a multi-fronted attack, which includes a team-up we didn’t see coming. Along with Han and Leia, and Luke and R2-D2, Chewbacca and Threepio are on their own mission.

Thankfully, we get to see it in all its glory.

Here’s the synopsis from Marvel Comics:

"REBELS AND ROGUES! “The evil lord Darth Vader, obsessed with finding young Skywalker, has dispatched thousands of remote probes into the far reaches of space…” That’s right — you remember the opening titles of The Empire Strikes Back. Now find out what happened just before, as Luke and his friends launch a desperate, three-pronged mission of deception to keep the Empire from finding their new rebel base in a brand-new epic from the new ongoing team of Greg “PLANET HULK” Pak and Phil “POE DAMERON” Noto! Featuring Han and Leia undercover in a noir world of romance and danger! Luke and R2 facing off against the Executor in a single X-Wing! And Chewie and Threepio, the greatest team-up you never knew you always needed!"

Star Wars Age of Resistance: Captain Phasma No. 1

We learned about Captain Phasma in the stand alone novel depicting her life before she joined the First Order. But that’s not all there is to Phasma.

It’s a good thing we get the book and comics because the movie did not do her justice. As a fearsome leader of the First Order, she didn’t get to show much of her dangerous side in the sequel trilogy.

But one thing the other stores have done has showed us that Captain Phasma is a woman who gets what she wants. She has an instinct for survival and will do whatever it takes to stay alive.

In the latest Star Wars Age of Resistance, we follow Phasma on a bit of a different mission. This time she is after something she wants from a stormtrooper and two will definitely meet.

Here’s the synopsis from Marvel Comics:

"ANOTHER GUN! STORMTROOPERS don’t get a name. They are simply a tool of the EMPIRE. But PHASMA has a name, and one young soldier wants what she has. One stormtrooper has ambition. And this ambition is on a collision course with CAPTAIN PHASMA."
