While we take all rumors with a grain of salt, this is one that has us excited because Obi-Wan is a beloved character that fans have been clamoring to see again for while now.
Here’s what we know:
With D23 next week, there is a lot of news we should be getting. There’s also a big Disney+ panel in which we are expected to get a trailer for The Mandalorian. There should be other Disney+ news with a possible announcement of a new Star Wars-related series.
We also know there is a third Disney+ Star Wars live-action series in its prelim stages. When the announcement came, we didn’t get anything more than that one was planned.
Then, there was the scrapped Obi-Wan movie that we had hoped was coming, but never did.
Again, D23 makes it the perfect time to announce the third series is about Obi-Wan Kenobi.
This is one most fans can get behind. Obi-Wan appeals to the original trilogy fans as the elder version was an instrumental part of the Luke’s upbringing. The character also appeals to fans of the prequel trilogy because of how important Obi-Wan was to Anakin’s story.
While we certainly don’t know if this rumor is true, we hope it is. It’s the one project that fans could agree on.
What do you think of this rumor? Do you want to see an Obi-Wan Kenobi TV series?
