The Mandalorian: No binge watch here, episodes to release weekly
Weekly releases or binge watching? Disney+ has apparently decided how The Mandalorian will be released on the streaming service.
We wondered if The Mandalorian would come weekly or would Disney+ go the binge watching route.
I was secretly hoping for a weekly format and, apparently, my wish came true. Disney+ will be release TV series episodes weekly as opposed to all at once, according to TV Line.

Those who love to binge watch will have to get their craving another way.
One thing I enjoy about weekly formats is the anticipation that builds week-to-week. That’s not to say I don’t enjoy binge watching (Hi there, Stranger Things!), but it almost feels necessary to watch all at once because everyone else is doing it. It’s tough to avoid spoilers otherwise.
This way, it gives people a chance to watch the episodes and ruminate over them until the next week.
This isn’t just for The Mandalorian, but all of the series coming to Disney+
But there are a few reasons from a financial standpoint this could happen. Say you’re only a Star Wars fan and you’re only interested in the Star Wars series coming to Disney+.
The Mandalorian releases on Day 1. You could watch the entire series (which shouldn’t be more than 10 episodes) in a weekend. Cancel your subscription and then wait until either February when The Clone Wars comes out, or wait for the untitled Cassian Andor series to buy another month.
The weekly format essentially ensures viewers will buy month-to-month or buy a yearly package rather than pick and choose the months they want to binge watch.
If it doesn’t work out. Disney could always go to the binge-watch format, but it will take some to make that decision.
