Ming-Na Wen is fulfilling a childhood dream getting to be part of the Star Wars universe with her newest role in The Mandalorian. We cannot wait!

Ming-Na Wen was recently announced as being part of the cast for The Mandalorian. For so many, including Wen, it was a dream come true to join the Star Wars cast.

Why?

More from The Mandalorian

For many actors – and fans – the first time they watched Star Wars, it was such a memorable and lasting moment. Something that changed the way they saw films or made their imaginations run wild. That was no different for Wen as Star Wars has such a strong place in her early years.

While at FanX in Salt Lake City, Wen discussed what it was like to join The Mandalorian and why she was so nervous about it. ComicBook.com captured the interview:

"“Ever since I was a little girl, when I saw Star Wars, it changed my life. I can’t even imagine the impact that it must continue to have in all the future generations since then,” Wen said during FanX Salt Lake Comic Convention over the weekend. “But I used to like pray to God, Buddha and the Force. I’m not kidding. And to this day, when I get on a plane, I still pray to God, Buddha and the Force we land safely [laughs].”"

For Wen, being a part of Star Wars is a dream come true. That’s not just cliché either.

It’s amazing to see her excitement and show her love of the franchise. With the advent of Disney+ and the opportunities for new shows such as The Mandalorian, the untitled Cassian Andor series and the untitled Obi-Wan Kenobi series, there are so many new opportunities.

There is a chance for fans to get more stories about this immersive galaxy. There’s the chance to meet new characters or go on adventures with old ones. For actors, there’s the opportunity to be a part of something you thought may never happen.

It’s no surprise we hear actors lobbying to be in Star Wars. Like us, they’re fans too. They just have the luxury of becoming part of that word.

Wen has been with Disney for a long time too. She was the voice for Mulan in the animated movie, and also notably played Melinda May in Marvel’s Agent of S.H.I.E.L.D.

Now, she gets to play a yet-to-be-named character in The Mandalorian.

We cannot wait for to see what she brings to the screen.
