Star Wars: Latest rumor gives info on Rey’s lineage
The latest rumor gives a hint on just who Rey might be related to within the Star Wars universe. Warning potential spoilers ahead.
One of the big questions we have for Star Wars: The Rise of Skywalker is who are Rey’s parents. It’s been alluded to since The Force Awakens that she isn’t a just nobody and that she is someone important to the greater story of the Skywalker Saga.
Many speculated that she could be related to Obi-Wan Kenobi or Han Solo. Others have said she could possibly be Luke Skywalker’s child. A new rumor suggests something completely different.
Warning: Potential spoilers ahead. Turn back if you don’t want to be spoiled.

So, the way the rumor goes is that when Kylo Ren told Rey her parents were nobodies, he wasn’t actually wrong. To find a connection to the Force and the connections to the Skywalkers, you have to dig deeper into the family tree.
The latest Star Wars rumor says she is the granddaughter of Palpatine.
I didn’t see that one coming. The only thing is that it comes from a reputable source. Reddit user JediPraxis has supplied the Star Wars community with solidleaks over the years and now has assembled a basic plot for Episode IX (only click if you’re willing to be completely spoiled) here.
Additionally, a new rumor from Making Star Wars also connects Rey to Palpatine, as well, with this little nugget.
"Rey and Kylo have a struggle over a ship and during that struggle Rey uses lightning form her fingertips for the first time on accident and it destroys the ship."
This doesn’t mean the connection is real. And to be honest, I hope it’s not.
Because, then, who’s the mom? Who did Palpatine get busy with in order to create this person? I’m trying to wrap this information in a cute little bow, but it’s just not working.
We do know that Palpatine created life. We saw that in this comic in which it shows how Palpatine created Anakin in utero. But then what?
It’s all pretty confusing to me and I am having difficulties in connecting the dots on this one.
