John Boyega’s agent leaks potential Episode IX trailer release date
John Boyega’s agent took to Instagram and released some potentially exciting news for Star Wars fans regarding Episode IX’s release date.
With Star Wars: The Rise of Skywalker just a little over two months away from its release date, fans are anxiously waiting for the next trailer to drop. Well, it looks like John Boyega’s agent, Femi Oguns, may have leaked some important information regarding when Episode IX’s trailer will be released.
On Oguns’ Instagram, he posted a picture on Thursday, October 10 featuring several characters who will be in The Rise of Skywalker including Rey and Finn (John Boyega), among others. The important piece in the picture is that ESPN’s Monday Night Football logo is in the center of it.

Lastly the caption to Oguns’ post reads “@starwarsmovies trailer out Monday. It’s official.”
So, according to Boyega’s agent, we should expect to see a new Episode IX trailer on Monday, October 14, during a Monday Night Football matchup between the Detroit Lions and Green Bay Packers on ESPN.
Of course, this is just one of multiple rumors for trailer release dates, and it also needs to be noted that Lucasfilm has yet to confirm this. So, there’s nothing official yet. Oguns also didn’t post an exact date. He just said the trailer will be “out Monday.” Whether that’s this Monday, next Monday, or the following Monday remains to be seen.
Being that Oguns is Boyega’s agent, he is a source that’s probably pretty close to the situation. Perhaps he’s just trolling Star Wars fans. Only time will tell. Either way, an Episode IX trailer has to be close being that the film is going to be released in a little over two months.
At the very least, it looks like Monday Night Football will get some extra viewers this week.
The Rise of Skywalker hits theaters on December 20, 2019.
