A new Star Wars rumors suggest a dive into Yoda’s background. That’s one path we don’t need to go on.
There’s very little we know about The Mandalorian and I kind of like it like that. However, a new rumor has emerged for the first live-action Star Wars television series – one I am having hard time wrapping my head around.
The rumor comes from Making Star Wars where Jason Ward happens to run into people who worked on the series. One of the things they mentioned was how The Mandalorian will explore a bit on Yoda’s species, in which the information was contributed by George Lucas.

For what it’s worth, we take every rumor with a grain of salt because this is just that – a rumor.
While I am excited for The Mandalorian, which comes out on November 12, this is a rumor that brings me any type of joy.
First, it seems a little odd. Perhaps Pedro Pascal’s character travels to Yoda’s home planet and that’s how we learn more about the mysterious green alien.
But second, and most importantly, there was something fun in not knowing about Yoda’s background and history. He carried a mysticism about him that allowed for his character to feel important as though he lived on a different plane.
By bringing another Yoda-like alien – not counting Yaddle from the prequels – it brings Yoda down a level. If there are thousands of his alien race just hanging out on another planet, it makes him feel less special.
I’d prefer this not to be the case. Of course, if it is true, it could be completely well done and I will take it all back.
Yet, on the surface I don’t love this rumor.
The Mandalorian premieres on Disney+ on November 12.
