Star Wars: If Hayden Christensen is not in Episode IX — WE RIOT!
We all want to see Hayden Christensen in Star Wars: The Rise of Skywalker. Hopefully, J.J. Abrams will make it happen.
It’s been 20 years since the first of the Star Wars prequels released and since that time the prequel trilogy has been gaining in popularity with fans as they get older.
That includes more love for Hayden Christensen, who played Anakin in Episodes II and III, and a love for Jar Jar Binks, who was ridiculed when the movies first came out.

But let’s go back to Christensen and his portrayal of Anakin Skywalker. We watched him turn from Anakin, a young Jedi Padawan, and into Darth Vader. He gave us a backstory to one of the most fascinating characters to ever grace our screen.
Given the Star Wars story has largely been about his redemption, it only seems fitting that in the conclusion of the Skywalker Saga, Hayden Christensen should return as Anakin.
Honestly, it’s the right thing to do.
Even with all the leaks that have been put out about The Rise of Skywalker, nothing has been said about Hayden Christensen returning to reprise his role. There have been fans wishing for it to happen and those fires were stoked last week when Hayden was spotted at Disneyland’s Galaxy’s Edge.
The reception to seeing him in the Star Wars universe again was nothing short of spectacular. Fans were excited watching his time at the theme park while showing his daughter around for her birthday.
The pictures were fun and staged, but still fun.
And it made us yearn to have him in Episode IX even more.
It seems all is wrapped up The Rise of Skywalker, but hopefully J.J. Abrams was able to sneak Hayden into the movie that will give fans a great surprise next month. Even it meant sneaking Hayden onto set in the middle of the night in a hooded robe so leaks wouldn’t get out, it would be well worth it.
If not – WE RIOT!
I’m kidding. No rioting going on, but his addition would certainly be a welcome one.
The Rise of Skywalker premieres December 20.
