When will The Mandalorian Season 2 be released?

Mando and Baby Yoda have already been given the go-ahead for Season 2, so when will The Mandalorian Season 2 be released?

The final episode of The Mandalorian was released today on the Disney+ streaming service and it ended with the perfect set up for Season 2. So, the question we all have now is when will The Mandalorian Season 2 be released?

First of all, for those of you who might not be aware, The Mandalorian has already been renewed by for a second season. Considering how popular the live-action Star Wars series has been this isn’t a huge surprise. What might be surprising is the series was renewed before the premiere had even aired.

That’s right. Disney pulled an Amazon Prime Video, who are known for renewing their original series prior to the release of the latest season. This might appear as a brash move, but it shows confidence in Jon Favreau and the series as a whole.

It’s also a good thing for us as fans. Because The Mandalorian Season 2 has already been given the official go-ahead, filming has already gotten underway. Meaning the wait between now and the new season is going to be that much shorter.

An exact release date is still to be announced, but the expectation is November 2020. However, this expectation is purely based on the release date of season 1. The idea is that they will try and keep the time between seasons to an absolute minimum and similar to Network TV shows which are roughly a year apart.

As soon as we get an exact date you will hear about it right here. For now, we’ll keep the fingers crossed it will be no longer than a year.

Jon Favreau announced shortly after this post was published The Mandalorian Season 2 will be released in the Fall of 2020.
