Missing out on the bromance from Finn and Poe? The Star Wars novel Resistance Reborn has what you need.

Star Wars: The Rise of Skywalker didn’t have enough moments for fans of the Finn and Poe bromance. Still, since their characters met in The Force Awakens, they had plenty of chemistry, but the final movie in the sequel trilogy didn’t give us enough of what many of us would have wanted.

Thanks goodness for Resistance Reborn, the novel by Rebecca Roanhorse.

If not for that, we may not have gotten some of the sweet moments between the two. Resistance Reborn takes place after the events of The Last Jedi. Poe is reeling from his decisions that led to the Resistance being decimated. Finn is dealing with the effects of the fall out.

While they were both in difficult states mentally, one of the best things about the book was the relationship between Finn and Poe. While there weren’t any sparks flying – if you know what I want I mean – Roanhorse took the relationship to a different level and they had more of a brotherly love.

Finn doesn’t have as much of a diverse life experience as Poe. Finn was taken by the First Order as a kid so he all he knew was mopping floors and stormtrooper uniforms.

In Resistance Reborn, Poe and Finn go on a mission that takes them to a fancy party and they needed to wear good clothes. This means, Finn had to wear a tie, something he had never done before.

There is a sweet moment between the two where Poe shows Finn how to tie a tie for the first time. What also makes it special is how Poe brings in his father and explains that his dad taught him how to do it.

"“(Poe) smoothed the tie one last time before turning Finn around so he could see himself in the mirror. The younger man’s eyes were wary at first, but soon went soft with wonder.“They don’t teach you how to tie a tie in stormtrooper training,” Finn said quietly.Poe didn’t say anything, just pressed a reassuring hand against Finn’s shoulder until the younger man gave him a smile.”"

They share a special moment and one those of quiet times that has so much meaning. It shows the trust and the love between the two. Poe and Finn had other moments throughout the book, which showed their relationship growing, but this is the one that stood out the most.
