Rumors have been circulating that a Star Wars character from Legends is rumored to be introduced in the upcoming Obi-Wan Kenobi Disney Plus Series.

In the past week, the Disney+ Star Wars Obi-Wan Kenobi series has been all over the news, and not necessarily for the best of reasons.

Rumors have been circulating that the series may need to be delayed, as some are unsatisfied with the show’s script, and while that may not necessarily be a bad thing in the long run, it is a bit disheartening.

With that said, in the past week, we have gotten some potential news regarding a character from Star Wars Legends set to appear in the show, thanks to a post on the StarWarsLeaks reddit page from someone claim to have a source from the show’s writing process.

Please bear in mind, this is a potential spoiler for the Kenobi Series, but also, take it with a grain of salt, as there is not way to verify its legitimacy.

According to the post, the character Sharad Hett will be re-canonized into the Star Wars Universe and introduced in the Obi-Wan series, likely as an antagonist for Obi-Wan.

In Legends, Hett was a member of the Jedi Order, who left the order and exiled himself to Tatooine after discovering the death of his family and destruction of his home world. He joined the local Tusken culture on Tatooine and  became a Warlord with the Sand People. He also had a son, A’Sharad, who late became a Jedi himself and was a General in the Clone Wars.

His son also survived Order 66 and returned to Tatooine, where he became a leader of the sand people, and raided many farms and villages, and eventually had a confrontation and battle with Obi-Wan when he tried attacking the Lars moisture farm, home to Luke Skywalker.

From the Reddit post, it sounds like Sharad will have a story combining that of himself and his son’s story from Star Wars Legends.

The post says that the source claims Hett will go into hiding and join the Tusken Raiders after Order 66.

From there, the main conflict of the show will be him sensing the force in Luke Skywalker, who he will then set out to kill to prevent the Emperor and Darth Vader from coming to Tatooine, leading to his confrontation with Obi-Wan.

Like I said, take this rumor with a grain of salt, but if it is true, it’s a very interesting take for the show, and I love the idea of reintegrating characters from Legends back into canon.

As of now, the Kenobi series has no set release date, but Ewan McGregor did state that they expect to start filming by early next year.
