The recent announcement of George Lucas returning for the upcoming Star Wars series involving Cassian Andor for Disney+ has been debunked.

To the surprise of probably nobody. The announcement made yesterday by The Illuminerdi that George Lucas would be returning to Star Wars for the Cassian Andor series has been debunked. Lucas is not going to be involved in the upcoming Disney+ series.

Clayton Sandell, a correspondent for ABC, looked into the report where it was made that George Lucas would be a writer, producer and director for the upcoming series, found there was no truth to the report.

In a tweet by Sandell, he made it very clear the report was nothing but Star Wars Clickbait. You can see his reaction for yourself below:

Ever since Lucas left the franchise, Star Wars fans have been split on whether or not he should come back. Depending on whether you want Lucas to return will depend on who exactly you want to believe here. A notable amount of fans who want Lucas to return are already discrediting Sandell’s announcement.

However, considering Disney owns both ABC and Star Wars, Sandell is appropriately placed to investigate such claims and find out if they are indeed true or not. So, if you are inclined to belief the report by The Illuminerdi yesterday over Sandell; I would brace yourself for disappointment. Lucas is not going to be involved in the series.
