One of the first casting rumors for The Mandalorian has popped up and it seems a galaxy far, far away is getting someone from the Squared Circle.
The first season of The Mandalorian saw a former MMA star join the cast — and Gina Carrano as Cara Dune was awesome. The second season of the Disney+ series might be getting another popular sports entertainer.
WWE’s Sasha Banks is rumored to be joining the cast of the second season of The Mandalorian, according to multiple reports. The reports come from Mat Men Pro Wrestling and ProWrestlingSheet.

It’s not known the extent of her role, but it could be anything from a multi-episode arc such as Gina Carano’s role or a special guest star in one episode much like Ming-Na Wen’s character.
The Mandalorian did a good job of bringing in outside characters to spice up the series. In the first season, we saw guest starring roles from Bill Burr, Giancarlo Esposito, Amy Sedaris, Jason Sudekis, Horatio Sanz — just to name a few.
It’s clear Jon Favreau is happy to tap into his comedy contacts to bring well known names on board. It wouldn’t be surprising to see that for the next season as well — and it’s good to see him going outside of the circle as well.
Sasha Banks makes sense for The Mandalorian too. She’s a known name, a commodity. It also works for others who are looking to get a bigger break. Being part of the Star Wars universe comes with its benefits and drawbacks, but it’s certainly a way to catapult one’s stardorm into the mainstream.
According to the wrestling sites, Banks last wrestled on January 3 as she is apparently recovering from an ankle injury. That time away from the ring certainly gives her enough time to film scenes for The Mandalorian if that’s what she is doing with her time off.
The Mandalorain Season 2 is scheduled to premiere on Disney+ in October.
