Next to Mando, Baby Yoda is the most likely to engage in a lightsaber battle with Moff Gideon. Fans would absolutely lose their minds if they saw the cute little green bugger pick up a lightsaber, ignite it, and take down the evil Moff.
The battle would actually be somewhat fair. Moff Gideon being much taller would have the high ground, but that would be neutralized by The Child’s ability to use the Force. Any fight involving Baby Yoda would be truly epic, and it would be interesting to see if his lightsaber fighting style is similar to what Yoda used in Episode II against Count Dooku.
Again the biggest question mark with having Baby Yoda dueling Moff Gideon would be where would he find a lightsaber and would he even be strong enough to lift it? It could be easily explained that he could lift it and it and wield it using the Force, but where would they get one?
With The Child and Mando’s travels taking them from planet to planet, perhaps they uncover one along the way. In fact, it wouldn’t be surprising to see the first episode of season two end with them discovering a long-forgotten lightsaber on some planet. With Mando apparently having little to no knowledge of the Jedi or the Force itself, it would be The Child who ends up figuring out how to use the ancieint and elegant weapon from a more civilized age.
