The Star Wars fan show Black Series Rebels has some rumors on who they have heard will be directing in the next season. According to Black Series Rebels, Bryce Dallas Howard is returning but there are some new names.
While Black Series Rebels have good sources, keep in mind this hasn’t been confirmed by any official sources. But that won’t stop us from taking a look at the names that have been rumored to be directing The Mandalorian.
The new names that have popped up include Robert Rodriguez and James Mangold. Rodriguez has directed a number of interesting films including From Dusk Till Dawn, Sky Kids, Sin City and Alita: Battle Angel. He has a unique style that comes out in everything he does.
Mangold is an interesting name because of his tie to the Star Wars. Mangold was reportedly attached to a Boba Fett standalone film. Of course, the film never happened and Disney has put a hold on any anthology films. It was certainly big news at the time, but it’s not something that ever came to fruition. Mangold also had a lot to say about the toxic Star Wars fan culture.
Yet given Mangold’s relationship with Lucasfilm, it’s not surprising Lucasfilm found a place for the Academy Award-nominated director somewhere else, even if it isn’t a full feature film.
The Mandalorian is schedule to premiere in October.
