Give Nightsister Merrin a larger role
Towards the end of the game’s story while on Dathomir, a Nightsister named Merrin aids Cal in his fight against the former Jedi Taron Malicos, after which she agrees to join the crew of the Mantis and accompany Cal in his adventure.
However, the character offers little beyond that initial fight with Malicos. Cal is able to speak with her for advice before he departs the Mantis and she saves him and Cere in a cut scene at the conclusion of the final mission, but that’s about it.
This was a shame because the Nightsisters have powers that have yet to properly be explored in major Star Wars mediums, and giving Merrin a larger role in the Fallen Order sequel is the perfect way to do so.
Having her accompany Cal on his adventure on planets and using her special powers to aid him could add a new and interesting element to the gameplay. She as the ability to use the force, as well as teleport and even make things appear invisible, and this could all make for some interesting, as well as new gameplay.
She could either act as a companion to Cal, similar to BD-1 and be commanded by the player to use her abilities, or could be a playable character herself at certain parts of the game.
Giving Merrin a more expanded role would add a new element to the Fallen Order sequel, and explore one of the most unique types of focus users in the Star Wars Universe. In my opinion, it would be a waste not to give a character with this much potential a bigger role.
