Cad Bane

Cad Bane was an extremely memorable character from The Clone Wars who would be a fantastic addition to season two of The Mandalorian. Cad Bane is a bounty hunter and a member of the Duros species. He’s known for his blue skin, big red eyes and big cowboy hat.

Throughout the Clone Wars, he had plenty of interactions with the Jedi and seemed to outwit Obi-Wan and Anakin at every turn. He was widely seen as the best bounty hunter in the galaxy and the last time we saw him he was finally outsmarted by Obi-Wan and ended up in a Coruscant prison.

Bane’s inclusion in The Mandalorian would be a fairly easy one to make assuming he’s still alive. Perhaps Moff Gideon doesn’t want to pursue Mando and The Child across the galaxy and would rather higher a bounty hunter to do it.

With Mando still being a member of the Guild, it’s unlikely any other member of the Guild would take on that mark. Gideon would have to find someone who isn’t a member, yet still savvy and experienced enough to bring in a tough target like Din Djarin. Being a bit of a Clone Wars relic himself, he would be aware of Bane and could break him out of prison and hire him for this task.

Even seeing an aged Bane would bring a smile to Star Wars fans’ faces. One has to think he’d still have plenty of tricks up his sleeve and would be a formidable foe for The Mandalorian. There’s plenty of actors who would do well in portraying Bane in the series and one that immediately came to mind is Michael C. Hall, of former Dexter fame.

Hall has already played a character with a murderous background and it is easy to see him parlaying Bane’s no-nonsense demeanor. He actually even looks slightly like Bane and would be an inspired choice.
