Rosario Dawson didn’t confirm she was playing Ahsoka Tano in The Mandalorian. But also didn’t deny it. The actor gives biggest hint yet to the Star Wars rumor.

There are ways to answer questions while alluding to something and yet not giving anything away. That’s what Rosario Dawson recently did in an interview when asked about the Ahsoka Tano Star Wars rumors.

She didn’t act shocked or surprised. But she didn’t debunk them either.

More from The Mandalorian

Dawson recently spoke with Variety on a number of topics, including her rumored portrayal of our beloved Ahsoka in The Mandalorian Season 2.

Dawson told Variety:

“That’s not confirmed yet but when that happens, I will be very happy. I’m very excited for that to be confirmed at some point,” she said, adding it would be “a million and one percent because of the fans.”

That’s as close to a confirmation as it is going to get even though she said it hasn’t been confirmed yet. There are games you have to play in the business and one of them is waiting for the big studios to do their marketing especially if you want to be invited back.

So we get teases like this.

The key is she also said “yet” and that she is “excited for that to be confirmed at some point.”

If it wasn’t going to happen, she could have easily said, “Nope. I have no idea where those rumors came from and I am not playing that role.” But she didn’t!

For Star Wars fans, it was hard to believe the rumors. We’ve been burned before. First, they seemingly came out of nowhere. Although three years ago, there was a fan who wanted it to happen and Dawson wasn’t saying no.

Also, not many were even considering that a live-action Ahsoka Tano would appear in The Mandalorian.

Yet, here we are.

Now that the rumors have been kind of confirmed, we can actually start day dreaming a little more of what we can expect from Ahsoka in The Mandalorian when the second season premieres in October.
