The second season is scheduled to premiere in October on Disney+. It finished wrapping production before the stay-at-home orders were issued. Hopefully this means there won’t be any delays for Season 2.
When we last saw Din Jarrin, he was flying off world with The Child, affectionately known as Baby Yoda. The two thought their tough times were over having defeated Moff Gideon and the remnants of the Emprie, but we saw something he did not.
Moff Gideon cut himself out of his crashed tie fighter with the Dark Saber, the famed weapon of the Mandalorians. That was enough to keep Star Wars fans excited and anxiously awaiting the start of the second season.
There is no word of who or what kind of stories Favreau is working on for the third season or even if Baby Yoda will still be a part of the series.
However, given how quickly fans fell in love with him it’s hard to imagine the series without him. Part of the appeal of Mando was not just his cool look and the way expertise in fighting, but also his empathy.
Whether the third season is set to come out in 2021 is also not confirmed. Currently, the Cassian Andor series is presumable scheduled to premiere that year.
