New Star Wars rumor suggest another animated character may be headed for live-action
Ahsoka Tano. Bo Katan. Now possibly Ezra Bridger.
The Star Wars rumor mill is churning once again that Rebels’ Ezra Bridger could potentially be coming to live action. Remember, all these rumors are to be taken with a grain a salt.

The latest info comes from The Illuminerdi, who says there is an active casting search for Ezra.
"The ongoing casting search is focused on finding a male, between the ages of 30 to 40. They are looking for an actor of color, specifically performers of Asian descent, however they are open to Indian, Latino, or Middle Eastern actors as well."
While we have no idea if this is true, if there was one live-action show I would certainly want to see it’s what happens to Ezra, Thrawn, Ahsoka, Sabine and others after Rebels. There are also rumors that an animated Rebels sequel is in the works – so in reality no one knows what is going on.
Currently, there are several shows on Disney+ that are confirmed in various states of production. These include:
- The Mandalorian
- Cassian Andor series
- Obi-Wan Kenobi series
- Leslye Headland project
Other than these, everything else is just rumor and speculation. If we put everything on the list including the rumors, we’re talking about a much lengthier list, which almost seems impossible. While Disney+ has a lot of original content it needs to put on air, it can’t all be Star Wars.
If there was anything learned by the Star Wars anthology movies, there is such a thing as too much too fast.
So, adding more shows to what feels like is becoming a stacked line up may not be realistic.
Perhaps Ezra is coming to live action or a Rebels sequel will show up on Disney+. Or we get none of these.
How would you feel about a live-action Ezra Bridger and who would you want to see play him?
