Poe Dameron’s X-Wing

Here’s another example of a twist on an unoriginal idea. The Star Wars sequels were heavily based in nostalgia rather than moving the series forward into new and unexplored areas. So the fact we see X-Wings again shouldn’t come as any surprise.

What is different, and makes Poe’s X-Wing unique, is its coloring. The ship is painted black with cool orange highlights on the wings and hull. It makes the otherwise mundane looking ship standout and lets enemies know that the pilot of this ship means business.

It also reflects its pilot’s attitude and character. Poe is a bold pilot who isn’t afraid to take chances. As far as pilots go, he sticks about amongst the crowd and is a loud and commanding presence when he’s in a meeting or debriefing. This ship with its bold features also stands out in a similar way, making them a perfect pairing.
