Jeff Goldblum is totally down to join The Mandalorian

Jeff Goldblum revealed he’d love to be cast in The Mandalorian on Disney+.
Star Wars has been able to gather stars from all around the galaxy. And at this point, the real question to ask is: who hasn’t been in the Star Wars universe? While it may not be as extensive as taking pretty much every star on the Earth and pulling it into one of its movies like Marvel Studios, long-time actor Jeff Goldblum is certainly ready to become a part of the Disney+ family (again) through Star Wars.
This was revealed by the actor in an interview with Insider. In the interview, they teased the idea of Goldblum having a reunion of many sorts by appearing in The Mandalorian. Goldblum already has his own TV series on Disney+, The World According to Jeff Goldblum. And, additionally, the actor has ties to Mandalorian actor and director Taika Waititi, seeing as they worked together on Thor: Ragnarok.
So, what did Goldblum have to say in regards to potentially joining the cast of The Mandalorian? Here’s what he revealed in the interview:
"I’m a fan of it! I’m a fan, of course, of Taika Waititi. I adore him, always did before I even worked with him, and maybe we’ll do something again together…We’ve talked about doing something else that has to be secret right now, but I would do anything with him, sure. And Disney+ are just a great bunch of people to be associated with. They are a wonderful family, how smart and sweet and kind they are."
It seems like Thor: Ragnarok won’t be the last we see of Waititi and Goldblum working together. While the project is kept under wraps right now, it makes you wonder if Waititi will want to bring Goldblum into his Star Wars movie that’s in the works. Honestly, Goldblum playing a character like the Grandmaster would work just excellent in the Star Wars universe. And maybe as a nod to the Grandmaster’s character and Benecio Del Toro’s character, The Collector, being brothers, perhaps Goldblum’s character can be brothers with DJ. Maybe that’s going a bit too far, but the possibilities are endless.
Still, if Goldblum isn’t taking part in Waititi’s Star Wars movie, The Mandalorian is the next best thing. Seriously, an Emmy-nominated television show is not a bad look for the actor. Insider even teased he could play a droid akin to Waititi’s IG-11. To that, he responded: “Oh, that’s fun! Well, I did that thing with Taika for Marvel, and I was a little bit of a mixed kind of character, a little bad in that, so I can imagine what you’re talking about.”
Unfortunately, it’s a bit too late for Goldblum to appear in season 2 of The Mandalorian. The show is scheduled to come out sometime next month. (Yes, it’s fastly approaching!) But it very well seems like Disney+ plans on continuing the series with a third season. Perhaps even a potential fourth. That gives them plenty of time to bring Goldblum into the series, even if it’s for a brief cameo.
